Tooth gems and charms can last anywhere from a few weeks to over two years, depending on your body, habits, and hygiene. If you follow the aftercare (we trust you 💕), your gem is guaranteed for 30 days from your appointment.

✨ Before Your Appointment:

  • Whitening your teeth? Do it at least 2 weeks before your appointment.

  • Brush before you arrive, if you can—we love a clean canvas.

  • Bring a photo ID (license, passport, military ID, etc.)

💖 After Your Appointment:

  • Your gem might feel a little “there” at first, but that sensation will fade in a few days.

  • If anything feels sharp or uncomfortable—hit us up immediately.

  • Avoid stain-heavy foods (like red wine, turmeric, coffee) for the first few days.

  • Skip hard or sticky foods (ice, taffy, hard candy) and try to chew on your gem-free side when you can.

  • Brush and floss like normal, but be gentle near your gem.

  • No charcoal toothpaste—it’s too abrasive.

  • Whitening strips are okay, but try to avoid placing them directly over your gem(s). Just know: the area under your gem won’t whiten.

💡 Pro Tip: The less you mess with it, the longer it lasts. Treat it like a mini crown—not a crunch zone. Also, be careful when flossing, we’ve lost several gems this way.

  • See your dentist regularly—just like with braces or retainers, gems can attract plaque if you skip cleanings.

  • If you notice the gem feeling loose or looking different, check in with your dentist.

👋 When It’s Time to Say Goodbye:

Gems will fall off on their own eventually, but if you’re ready to part ways early:

  • Visit a dentist to have it removed properly—please don’t DIY it.

  • Many dentists will remove it during a cleaning (just call ahead to ask).

  • If your gem’s crystal separates but the shiny backing stays behind—totally normal. It’ll wear down naturally with brushing or can be polished off by a dentist.
