Frequently Asked Questions
What are tooth gems?
Tooth gems are small crystals, stones, or charms that are safely bonded to the surface of your teeth using dental-grade adhesive. They’re non-invasive, pain-free, and a fun way to express your unique style.
Do tooth gems damage your teeth?
Nope! When applied properly by a trained tech (like us!), tooth gems do not damage the enamel or structure of your teeth. We use safe, biocompatible materials and a non-drill method that keeps your smile protected.
How long do they last?
Tooth gems can last anywhere from 4 weeks to over a year, depending on placement, your oral habits, and how well you follow aftercare. Some people wear them for a few months and others rock them for much longer!
Can I remove it myself?
We don’t recommend removing it at home. If you're ready to take it off, visit your dentist so it’s done safely and cleanly.
Is it safe for teens?
We apply gems to clients 18+, but we do accept clients as young as 16 with parental consent. We always prioritize safety and transparency—so we have a short consultation before we install on minors.
Can I eat and drink normally?
Yes! Just avoid extremely hard or sticky foods for the first 24 hours. After that, you can eat and drink like usual (but maybe skip biting into jawbreakers or chewing ice).
Can I brush my teeth normally?
Definitely. You should continue brushing and flossing around your gem like normal—just be gentle around it to keep it secure.
What’s the aftercare look like?
Here’s how to keep your gem sparkling and in place:
💧 No eating or drinking (except water) for 2 hours after application
🍬 Avoid super sticky or hard foods for 24 hours
🪥 Brush gently around the gem
💋 Avoid lip biting, constant tongue rubbing, or picking at it
💎 Don’t use whitening products directly on the gem—it could weaken the bond
What if it falls off?
It’s rare, but it can happen—especially if it’s bumped or tugged. If it falls off within 7 days, we’ll reapply it once for free. After that, a new application fee applies.
Can I get multiple gems or designs?
Absolutely! We offer singles, clusters, themed sets, and freestyle custom looks. You can go subtle or full glam—whatever fits your vibe.
Do I need to do anything before my appointment?
Come with clean teeth (brushed and flossed), and avoid eating right before. If you've just had dental work, wait at least 2 weeks before booking with us.
